For the last time under his administration, Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has provided free train ride for holiday makers to travel from Lagos to Osogbo for the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Aregbesola started this gesture in 2011 and he has been doing it during Christmas, New Year, Eid-el-Kabir and Eid-el-Fitri but this will be the last Christmas and New Year free train ride as his administration will end in November 2018.
The state Commissioner for Industry, Commerce and Co-operative, Ismail Adekunle Jayeoba-Alagbada, said in a statement made available to our correspondent by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr Semiu Okankawon that the train would by 10.00 a.m. on Saturday the 23rd of December 2017, convey people from Lagos to Osogbo.
“The return journey to Lagos from Osogbo will be Tuesday the 26th of December by 10am. The train will also resume from Lagos to Osogbo for the New Year celebration at 10a.m. Saturday December 30th2017and return to Lagos on Tuesday 2nd of January 2018,” the statement specified.
